Nestled within the surrounding spruce, pine, maple, and oak trees is a log house I share with my beloved husband Scott and our yellow labrador retriever named Miki. Here in our corner of the world in Upstate, NY is where all the magic happens - my artwork, my creations... When I'm not reading a book, sewing a dress, or baking, I can be found doing art in all its forms, especially drawing and painting. It is with this media that I feel like I can fully express my feelings, my thoughts, and my ideas.
I've been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. As a child I would spend countless hours at the living room coffee table lost in my own little world, crayons and pencils strewn about. As a teenager, I began to develop some real skills. Skills that my friend and mentor, the late George Benedict, helped me to hone into what would eventually become my lifelong career.
After having earned my BFA in Illustration from the Columbus College of Art & Design, where I learned the basics of art & design and was introduced to the great masters, I took some chances and moved to Miami, where I freelanced for various companies doing everything from T-shirt design to newspaper production. Having grown tired of big city life, I moved back up North where I met and married my husband of almost 20 years. And so here in this log house we find ourselves enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds our home and from what I draw most of my inspiration. I hope that you enjoy looking at the artwork on my website, which I hope may provide you, the viewer, a temporary reprieve from our sometimes chaotic world. And which may eventually include an online store. So if you find that you like what you've seen or have any suggestions, please drop a comment on the "Contact" page. I would love to hear from you!
Thank you for visiting...
All the best, Sue xx
